[eta] invariants under degeneration to cone-edge singularities : = η invariants under degeneration to cone-edge singularities
Abstract: We study the behaviour of the η invariant for a family Ωε of smooth manifolds undergoing cone-edge degeneration. The family of manifolds arises as the blow up of an orbifold’s singular set; the orbifold is recovered in the limit ε → 0, and our main result is an asymptotic formula relating the η invariant for small ε to that of the orbifold and of the smooth patch Z used to desingularize it
