Der Wahrsager Mohammed Salah legt das Sandorakel, indem er 4 x 4 Reihen von Vertiefungen mit der Hand in den Sand drückt, woraus jeweils Punktsymbole entstehen, durch deren Kombination wiederum Punktsymbole gewonnen werden, die, auf eine Schlußfigur reduziert, die Antwort des Orakels beinhalten.
The fortune-teller presses by hand four rows of spots into the sand. The rows are measured and according to a straight or irregular number of spots being left over, the result is retained as a symbol. The procedure is repeated four times. From the resulting four figures, four further figures are won by the combination. These eight figures are gradually reduced to a final figure giving the answer to the oracle query.
