Fight Back! Smash Gay Oppression! Queer-Feminist Badges From the FFBIZ
The FFBIZ, Frauenforschungs-, -bildungs- und -informationszentrum e.V., was founded in Berlin in 1978 and documents the history of the women's movement since 1968. The FFBIZ collects materials that traditional cultural heritage institutions dismiss as unimportant. Photos of buttons and stickers with queer-feminist messages are particularly interesting. These include, for example, the witch, which was appropriated by second wave feminists. Or a crossed-out coat hanger, the symbol of unsafe abortions - a campaign for the abolition of §218. The buttons show: Feminist struggles are also struggles for queer identity, for female pleasure, for motherhood, social justice and against racism.
