Zwischen den Hengsten eines Familienverbandes besteht eine Rangordnung. Rangordnungsauseinandersetzungen finden sowohl in Interaktionen mit Körpereinsatz als auch in solchen mit Koten statt, Koten wird somit zum Rangdokumentierverhalten.
There is a rank hierarchy among the stallions of a family group. Rankdetermining conflicts consist both of interactions using the body and those using dung. Interactive deposition of dung is thus rank-documenting behaviour.
