1816 Ortschaft im Bezirk Driburg des Kreises Brakel, 1832 zum Kreis Höxter, 1843 Gemeinde im Amt Driburg, seit 1970 Teil der Stadt Bad Driburg im Kreis Höxter. Gehörte bis 1932 zum Bezirk des Amtsgerichts Nieheim und dann bis Ende 1978 zum Bezirk des Amtsgerichts Steinheim.
