Der Porträtierte steht in einem Innenraum an einem Fenster und trägt eine verzierte Weste mit Gehrock und Halsbinde/Krawatte. Auf dem Sims befinden sich einige Bücher, während das Fenster zu Teilen von einer Draperie verdeckt wird.
