Expansão de área agrícola: Perfil e desigualdade entre as mesorregiões Brasileiras

The article aimed at to map the differences to the growth of the Brazilian agricultural area from 1994 to 2005 and from 1994 to 2010, trying to highlight changes related do 2006-2010 period. Data from Municipal Agricultural Production (PAM), of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) were employed. The Cluster Analysis was used to identify similarities among the Brazilian agricultural mesoregions. Results point to intense growth of agricultural border directed to Center-Northwestern axis of Brazilian space and to different areas of agricultural expansion vis a vis traditional South and Southeast mesoregions's. Moreover, it must to be noted that a fundamental role was detected in traditional agricultural areas, as São José do Rio Preto, Alto Paranaíba/ Triângulo Mineiro, and Norte Central Paranaense.
