Hainhummel. Arbeiterinnen streifen ihre an den Schienen der Hinterbeine haftenden Pollenpakete in Vorratsbehälter (Zellen von bereits geschlüpften Jungtieren) ab. Dort werden die Pollenklumpen mit den Mundwerkzeugen geknetet - möglicherweise unter Hinzufügung von Speichel und/oder Nektar - und flachgedrückt.
White tail bumblebee. Workers strip the pollen packets adhering to the tibia of the back legs into storage containers (cells of juveniles that have already hatched). There the lumps of pollen are kneaded with the mouth parts - possible under addition of saliva and/or nectar - and pressed flat.
