Vielzellige Filamente gleiten auf einer Agaroberfläche dahin. Sie hinterlassen dabei Schleimspuren. Hell durchscheinende Stücke in einigen Filamenten sind Nekridien (tote und leere Zellen). Infolge des Gleitens breitet sich die Kolonie (Schwarm) rasch aus. Im Schwarm können sich an beliebigen Stellen Filamente ansammeln und zusammenballen.
Multicellular filaments glide across an agar surface. They leave mucus traces behind. Lucid translucent pieces in some filaments are "necrotic bodies" (dead and empty cells). As a result of its gliding, the colony (swarm) spreads rapidly. Filaments can gather and form a ball at arbitrary locations in the swarm.
