Die General-Principia vom Kriege, appliciret auf die Tactique und auf die Disciplin, derer Preußischen Trouppen

This copy of the secret military strategy of Frederick the Great belonged to Kurd Christoph von Schwerin, one of the most eminent Prussian generals. The king had his "General-Principia", called by himself "Tactique", produced by his private press in the Berlin Palace in the utmost secrecy. About 50 copies were thus printed and distributed among the higher ranks of the Prussian officers. In a handwritten preface and a personal letter Frederick admonished the recipients of the "Tactique" to let nobody see this book and to have it sent back to the king in a sealed box if the recipient fell seriously ill and died.
