Una nueva historia política e institucional

Hasta hace poco tiempo la historiografía política e institucional había dependido casi por completo del imaginario político estatalista elaborado por la teoría política liberal del siglo XVIII. De ahí derivó una reinterpretación del sistema político institucional del Antiguo Régimen. El análisis que se propone en este artículo adscrito al pensamiento historiográfico postestructuralista, consiste en una descripción de las instituciones políticas y jurídicas prerrevolucionarias a través de las categorías que sugiere una interpretación densa de los discursos y prácticas de la época. De esta manera se pretende evitar el anacronismo, liberar la narrativa historiográfica de los intereses que condicionan el conocimiento político actual y restaurar el pluralismo historiográfico de las distintas experiencias de organización política. En todo caso, aún permanece sin respuesta la siguiente cuestión: ¿qué tan accesibles son las categorías históricas para comprender lo político?
Until very recently the political and institutional hisloriography has been entirely based on the state's ideology proposed by the liberal political theory since the 18th century. Upon this idea has evolved most of the literature on the anciene régime’s political institutions System. The analythic method proposed in this paper attempts in compliance with a post-structuralist historiographic criteria, to describe the pre-revolutionary political and juridical institutions through a diverse set of cathegories that suggest the interpretation of the discourse and practices of this historical period. This procedure aims to avoid anachronism, to free the historiographic narrative of all sort of elements conditioning current political thouglu and to restore the historiographic pluralism of the various experiencies of political organization. In any case still remains without answer the question of the suitability of historical categories for the understanding of political phenomena.
