Glacial Geomorphological Expedition to the Karakorum North Flank, 1986
Geoscientific investigations (geomorphological, glaciological, climatological, phytosociological) on the western scarp of the Tibetan plateau between the Tarim basin and the main ridge of the Karakorum: the Takla Makan desert, Kunlun, Aghil Mountains, Karakorum north slopes - first detailed studies to the north of the K2. Documentation of the strenuous course of the expedition in the inaccessible mountain terrain, from the approach by camel caravan up to the establishment of camps and survey stations in the glacial region.
