Las prácticas tradicionales de curación vigentes en los contextos rurales de Pasto-Colombia

The meanings of health and disease are constituted according to the peculiarities of the social, cultural, and historical context. It could be observed in Cabrera, Nariño, Colombia that health and the criteria of normality and pathology are not exclusive. They establish an integration of their "being well" adding the spiritual component and community participation. It is clear that they do not fragment a person's state of welfare as it is customary from the biomedical model: physical health, the organic component, the doctor; and psychological health to the psychiatrist.
Los significados de salud y enfermedad se constituyen de acuerdo a las particularidades del contexto social, cultural e histórico. Se pudo observar en Cabrera (Nariño-Colombia) que la salud y los criterios de normalidad y patología no son excluyentes, sino que establecen una integración de su "estar bien" sumando el componente espiritual y participación comunitaria. Es claro que no fragmentan el estado de bienestar de una persona como se tiene acostumbrado desde el modelo biomédico: la salud física, lo orgánico, al médico; y la salud psicológica al psiquiatra.
