Architektur

Spätromanisch-Frühgotische Gründung des 13. Jh. Unter Fürstbischof Julius Echter von Würzburg im Rahmen der „Gegenreformation“ („Re-Katholisierung“) wurde die Kirche im frühen 17 Jh. überarbeitet. Das Langhaus wurde 1730 neu erbaut; Kirchhofmauer mit Wehrgang nach Aufgabe des Kirchhofes als Begräbnisplatz im 18-19Jh abgetragen. Im Kirchturm ursprünglicher Turmchor mit Malerei erhalten. Founded in late Romanesque-early Gothic time within the 13th century, the church was overworked by of Prince Bishop Julius Echter of Würzburg, when he run his program of the „Counter-Reformation“ (or „Re-Katholization“). In 1730, the nave was rebuild, and after the cemetery had lost its primary function, curtain and battlement were removed within the 18-19th century latest. The church tower still does have its origin choir with paintings out from Gothic times.
