Gênero e eleições municipais em Fortaleza: uma análise da candidatura de Eliane Novais (PMDB)

This essay discusses the course of Eliane Novais candidacy (PMDB) to the city council of Fortaleza, analyzing its discursive and aesthetic particularities relationally with the symbolic universe of "being woman", trying to present feminist formulations regarding machismo to capture what difficulties women face in the political sphere. It points to an understanding that intersects the candidacy in question, the symbolic elements of femininity intersection as an electoral strategy, the insertion of women into party and institutional disputes and their relationship with a corporate organization, based on the sexual division of labor, which hampers female participation in the public space.
