En estas páginas se presenta un recorrido por diversas cuestiones relacionadas con la participación y la representación políticas en los sistemas políticos contemporáneos, tratando de recoger las aportaciones clásicas así como las más recientes que puedan resultar relevantes para la reflexión sobre la evolución de los modos y los mecanismos a disposición de los ciudadanos para integrar, articular, canalizar, movilizar y representar su participación política. La conclusión es un esperanzador saludo a las nuevas formas y mecanismos de participación diferenciados, así como a la diversificación de espacios y ámbitos para la acción política, cuya concurrencia no supone un cuestionamiento ni un riesgo para los sistemas democráticos representativos, sino, más bien, un elemento para desosificar sus estructuras y fluidificar su sabia democrática.
The content of the following pages is an overview over some particular issues regarding political action and political representation in contemporary democracies. Both, seminal and recent contributions have been taken into account in order to elaborate this overview on the recent developments of the types and repertory of political action, and of the mechanisms to represent social interests and participation. The conclusion is an optimistic greeting to the new forms of political action and repertory of diferentiated representation mechanisms, as well as to the diversification of spheres and fields where political action can, nowadays, be developed. The plurality, compatibility and simultaneous presence of these diversified and diferentiated fields and mechanisms do not represent a threat for representative democratic systems, but, on the contrary, it must be seen and can act as a potential force for the improvement of oxidized democratic processes and structures.
