Abstract: Saudi Arabia has gone through a huge expansion in the medical services, which increased the demand for interventional radiologist (IR) services. However, the current number of IRs is considerably less than the needed number, which poses a challenge to provide a 24/7 IR service coverage. The shortage may improve in the future, but it will continue through 2030 despite the successful local fellowship training program.
