Zerspanungsprozeß beim Drehen von Gußeisen mit Kugelgraphit mit hartmetallbestückten Werkzeugen im Langdreh- und im Orthogonalschnitt. Typische Scherspanbildung mit gleichmäßigen, groben Lamellen; die Spirallocken brechen erst beim Anlauf an das Werkstück. Übersichtsaufnahme (zeitgleich) und Lupenaufnahmen (Zeitdehnung).
The film shows the machining process during the turning of nodular cast iron GGG-50 with carbide tipped tools. The work sample was machined longitudinally and vertically under normal v 60 conditions, and the process was filmed both at normal speed and under magnification in slow-motion. The short, brittle cuttings, with coarse but uniform lamination, characterize the typical shearing cutting.
