This film studies the development of motion in human beings. Motor activity depends on the maturation process of the brain, particulary of the basal ganglia. Maturation of the individual ganglia of the brain stem which takes places in a sequential manner is demonstrated by trick and the further development of motor activity, which takes place in a step-wise manner, which is thus created, is pointed out. Actual views which show the respective advance of motor development, starting with newborns up to a 4-year-old child are inserted for the decisive developmental stages.
