Auf einem Dorfplatz von Sara werden durch eine Frau an vier Mädchen im Alter von 7 bis 9 Jahren Exzisionen vorgenommen. Frauen, die durch Gesänge den Mädchen Mut machen und sie festhalten, helfen mit. Nach der vierten Exzision wird die Wundbehandlung mit erhitzter Butter demonstriert.
Among the Omar-Arabs girls are excised at the age of seven to nine years, the custom of excision being explained by a religious commandment of Islam. The film shows excision performed on four girls. In one case the treating of the wounds after excision has also been filmed: A little butter is melted over a charcoal fire, a wad of cotton is soaked with it, and put several times on the wounds.
