Über die gesamte Zeit des über 60-jährigen Bestehens des URZ habe Kolleginnen und Kollegen Objekte der täglichen Arbeit aufbewahrt und gesammelt. So kann heute ein Teil der Geschichte der Rechentechnik und des URZ an der Universität Leipzig anhand vieler Objekte anschaulich präsentiert werden. Ein Teil der Sammlung kann in den Vitrinen des URZ-Museums auf Nachfrage besichtigt werden. Weitere Objekte sind in einem Magazin untergebracht.
Leider konnten nicht alle Geräte aufgehoben werden. So gibt es eine Reihe von Großgeräten, von denen nur Fotos oder Bauteile überliefert sind. Auch diese werden als virtuelle Sammlungsobjkte in dieser Anwendung präsentiert.
