Die Langhausfenster der Stiftskirche St. Florentius zu Niederhaslach : : zu Form, Inhalt und Funktion eines umfangreichen Bildzyklus der elsässischen Glasmalerei des 14. Jahrhunderts

Abstract: Die Langhausfenster der Niederhaslacher Stiftskirche St. Florentius gehören zu den bedeutendsten und umfangreichsten Glasmalereizyklen des 14. Jahrhunderts am Oberrhein. Sie erzählen auf der Südseite in abwechselnden Bildformaten (Großmedaillon- und Zellenfenster) die Viten der Kirchenpatrone Johannes der Täufer, Florentius und Maria und fahren mit der neutestamentlichen Heilsgeschichte nahtlos fort. Die Nordseite enthält vorwiegend moralisch-didaktische Bildinhalte: der Kampf der Tugenden über die Laster, Apostelmartyrien, Johannes der Evangelist, Messopfer mit Seelen im Fegefeuer, Werke der Barmherzigkeit, Weltgericht. Die Arbeit analysiert die bilderzählerischen Darstellungen vor allem im Hinblick auf Pilger als Rezipientenkreis
Abstract: Les vitraux de la nef de la collégiale St. Florentius de Niederhaslach font partie des cycles de vitraux les plus importants et les plus complets du 14ème siècle dans la région du Rhin supérieur. Sur le côté sud, ils racontent, en alternant les formats d'image (grands médaillons et fenêtres à cellules), les vies des saints patrons de l'église, Jean-Baptiste, Florentius et Marie, et continuent sans interruption avec l'histoire du salut du Nouveau Testament. Le côté nord contient surtout des images morales et didactiques : le combat des vertus contre les vices, les martyres des apôtres, Jean l'Évangéliste, le sacrifice de la messe avec les âmes du purgatoire, les œuvres de miséricorde, le jugement dernier. Le travail analyse les représentations narratives des images, surtout en ce qui concerne les pèlerins en tant que cercle de destinataires
Abstract: The nave windows of the Niederhaslach collegiate church of St Florentius are among the most important and extensive stained glass cycles of the 14th century on the Upper Rhine. On the south side, in alternating picture formats (large medallion and cell windows), they tell the lives of the church patrons St John the Baptist, St Florentius and St Mary and continue seamlessly with the New Testament story of salvation. The north side contains predominantly moral and didactic imagery: the battle of the virtues over the vices, the martyrdoms of the apostles, St John the Evangelist, the sacrifice of the Mass with souls in purgatory, the works of mercy and the Last Judgement. The work analyses the pictorial narrative representations, particularly with regard to pilgrims as a group of recipients
