Während über einem Holzfeuer Seifenlauge zum Kochen kommt, weicht ein Mann seinen Burnus im Flußwasser kurz ein. Auf einem Stein am Ufer wird das zusammengefaltete Übergewand anschließend durch Treten gewaschen und abwechselnd mit Lauge und Wasser überschüttet. Im Fluß wird das Kleidungsstück ausgeschwemmt und an der Ufermauer tropfnaß zum Trocknen aufgehängt.
While soap suds are coming to the boil over a wood fire, a man soaks his burnous for a short time in the river. On a stone on the bank the folded article is then washed by alternate treading and pouring of the suds or water. The clothing is then rinsed and hung to dry dripping wet on the river bank wall.
