The film shows fire-bellied toads (Bombina bombina) living in a medium-sized body of water where they call. The normal mating call and the release call are presented as well as the behaviour associated with these types of call. Two scenes taken at 17°C and 27°C demonstrate the influence of water temperature upon call repetition rate, pitch and call duration.
