Abstract: "Too long, didn't read!" (TLDR): This word from internet slang has a special relevance for libaries: Too long, too slow, and too boring are still attributes that are associated with libraries. A case in point are library introductions: In the Medical Library in Bern (BibMED), a tour of the premises and services can take 30 to 60 minutes. However, for individual members of the audience, only a few minutes may actually be relevant. After all, not everyone wants to borrow chargers or use the research support services. But if the services are not advertised, they will not gain popularity and will not be used accordingly. This is a dilemma that BibMED tried to deal with and finally found a solution with a "Virtual Tour": A collection of over 25 videos that are short, fast, entertaining, and yet summarize all the relevant information. Users can thus get a precise picture of the services that are important to them: How to reserve a group room? How does the virtual dissection table work? ...

(TLDR): Dieses Wort aus dem Internet-Slang hat für Bibliotheken eine besondere Relevanz: Zu lang, zu langsam und zu langweilig - das sind noch immer Attribute, die mit Bibliotheken assoziiert werden. Ein Fallbeispiel sind Bibliothekseinführungen: In der Bibliothek Medizin in Bern (BibMED) kann eine Tour durch die Räumlichkeiten und Angebote durchaus 30 bis 60 Minuten in Anspruch nehmen. Doch für einzelne Personen im Publikum sind womöglich nur ein paar wenige Minuten tatsächlich relevant. Schließlich wollen nicht alle Ladegeräte ausleihen oder von den Wissenschaftlichen Dienstleistungen Gebrauch machen. Doch werden die Angebote nicht beworben, erlangen sie keine Bekanntheit und werden dementsprechend nicht genutzt. Ein Dilemma, mit dem die BibMED umzugehen versuchte und schließlich mit einer "Virtuellen Tour" eine Lösung fand: Eine Sammlung von über 25 Videos, welche kurz, schnell und unterhaltsam sind und trotzdem alle relevanten Informationen zusammenfas...
