Diffusion-Tensor-Imaging bei primärer Insomnie

Zusammenfassung: Primary insomnia, a common sleep disorder, has been investigated in this study by using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). This technique allows to examine neuronal white matter by measuring fractional anisotropy (FA) in specific parts of the brain. We enrolled 19 patients and 19 healthy controls and aquired, among other things, diffusion weighted cranial MRI data. Aditionally, all participants were monitored in a seelp lab for two consecutive nights. Data analysis was done with SPM8. While small areas of significantly different FA have been found, especially in the intern capsule, a certain correlation could not be confirmed by the study
