Die 'Wissensgesellschaft' als 'Innovationsgesellschaft': der technologische Wandel der 80er und 90er Jahre im Spiegel seiner Wahrnehmung ; das Beispiel der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie

The article presents a short reconstruction and analysis of the changes of public perception of technological change occurring during the 80ies and 90ies. The aim of the contribution is to present and discuss current developments with reference to wider historical processes that underwent public perceptions of technological change within European Countries in the 20th century. The analysis includes also the phenomenon of technological fatalism which has been characteristic for many modern industrial societies in the 19th and 20th century.
