Deutungsmuster von Arbeitslosigkeit

Der Artikel befasst sich mit sozialen Deutungsmustern von Arbeitslosigkeit. Dazu werden die Ergebnisse eines Forschungsprojektes vorgestellt, das sich intensiv mit der Frage befasste, wie Arbeitslosigkeit und Arbeitslose (in Westdeutschland) wahrgenommen werden. Auf der Basis einer kontrastierenden Deutungsmusteranalyse konnten vier Typen sozial verbreiteter Deutungsmuster unterschieden und hinsichtlich ihrer Deutungs- und Bewertungslogiken rekonstruiert werden. Ein zentrales Ergebnis ist eine deutlich individualisierende und fatalisierende Sichtweise auf Arbeitslosigkeit und entsprechend der geringe Stellenwert, den strukturelle Deutungen einnehmen.
Abstract: This article deals with collective representations of unemployment by presenting central findings of a research project that focused intensely on how unemployment and the unemployed are perceived in western Germany. Based on a contrasting analysis of collective representations, four types could be reconstructed, based on their respective logics of perception and moral judgment. A central finding is a predominant focus on individualistic and fatalistic perspectives on unemployment and the correspondingly low priority given to structural interpretations.
