Status Quo der Weiterbildung in deutschen Bibliotheken

Abstract: To cope with social and technical developments as well as a changed understanding of services, new fields of action emerge in libraries. The due change processes need to be supported by professional development measures such as continuing education and training. Against the backdrop of increasing shortage of skilled workers, particularly in the service sector, professional development is a central aspect of organizational development to attract, keep and professionally develop employees. Nevertheless, the actual number of staff training days in German libraries falls short of the recommendations of the library associations
Abstract: Um den Folgen gesellschaftlicher und technischer Entwicklungen wie auch einem veränderten Dienstleistungsverständnis gerecht zu werden, etablieren sich in Bibliotheken neue Handlungsfelder. Die notwendigen Veränderungsprozesse müssen durch Maßnahmen der Personalentwicklung wie Fort- und Weiterbildungen unterstützt werden. Die Personalentwicklung ist dabei auch vor dem Hintergrund des zunehmenden Fachkräftemangels insbesondere im Dienstleistungssektor zentraler Aspekt der Organisationsentwicklung, um Mitarbeitende zu gewinnen, zu binden und fachlich zu entwickeln. Dennoch liegen die tatsächlichen Fortbildungstage von Mitarbeitenden in deutschen Bibliotheken hinter den Empfehlungen der Bibliotheksverbände
