Realidades dadas en Colombia: un llamado urgente a la psicología de la liberación

The socio-political crisis that Colombia has been going through for decades has made psychology an enormous task, namely: to think about the role it plays in the midst of these realities given in the country and in the contribution it has made and could make for its transformation. Starting from the proposals of Ignacio Martín Baró and Edgar Barrero Cuellar, this article tries to reflect on the psychology that Colombia needs, a psychology of the liberation that makes a decided commitment by a critical perspective and emancipating; which implies transcending its authoritarian epistemology, constructing theory from and for the people and deploying a transformative praxis that takes on three important tasks: to recover the historical memory, to deideologize the common sense and to promote the popular virtues.
La crisis sociopolítica por la que viene atravesando Colombia hace décadas aboca a la psicología a una tarea ingente, a saber: pensar en el papel que juega en medio de estas realidades dadas en el país y en el aporte que ha hecho y podría hacer para su transformación. Partiendo de las propuestas de Ignacio Martín-Baró y Edgar Barrero Cuellar, este artículo intenta reflexionar acerca de la psicología que necesita Colombia, una psicología de la liberación que haga una decidida apuesta por una perspectiva crítica y emancipadora; lo que implica trascender su epistemología autoritaria, construir teoría desde y para la gente y desplegar una praxis transformadora que asuma tres importantes tareas: recuperar la memoria histórica, desideologizar el sentido común y potenciar las virtudes populares.
