Holocausto, Modernidad, memoria…. nuevas reflexiones críticas en torno a Bauman

La obra de Zygmunt Bauman se ha perfilado como una significativa contribución al pensamiento crítico abocado a redefinir y a ampliar los márgenes de la reflexión disciplinaria, para incorporar tendencias y eventos que han puesto de manifiesto los límites del complejo proceso de construcción de la Modernidad. Entre los tópicos traídos al campo de la indagación sociológica, un importante lugar lo ha ocupado el Holocausto. El artículo sostiene que el análisis del evento queda subsumido en la conceptualización de la Modernidad, en su expresión Ilustrada, desatiende las pugnas teóricas y prácticas por definirla y su impacto sobre la condición judía, y extiende su análisis a la conceptualización de las víctimas, su especificidad, el acercamiento a la memoria y las implicaciones de los nexos entre moralidad y crítica política.
Zygmunt Bauman's work has emerged as a significant contribution to critical thinking aimed at redefining and expanding the margins of disciplinary reflection, to incorporate trends and events that have exposed the limits of the complex process of construction of Modernity. Among the topics brought to the field of sociological inquiry, an important place has been occupied by the Holocaust. The article argues that the analysis of the event is subsumed in the conceptualization of Modernity, as articulated by the Enlightenment, disregards the theoretical and practical struggles to define it and its impact on the Jewish condition, and extends its analysis to the conceptualization of the victims, their specificity, the approach to memory and the implications of the links between morality and political criticism.
