Abstract: The publication presents a comprehensive number of key indicators regarding the internationalism of German third level education institutes and the German academic system. It focuses on the international mobility of third level students and academics and the attractiveness of Germany as a study and research location in international comparison. The volume offers detailed information and various visualisations of core trends in academic mobility. For the first time, this year the publication also presents data on transnational education offerings and the final destinations of foreign students in Germany. The focus topic "USA and Germany: academic exchange and student mobility" (USA und Deutschland: Akademischer Austausch und studentische Mobilität) examines bilateral and unilateral exchange relations between the two academic systems from various perspectives. All texts in this volume are available in German and English
