Percepción de soledad en la mujer

The purpose of this study was to establish the status of the issue of investigations into loneliness and its perception. Loneliness itself is considered as a risk factor for mood disorders, drug consumption, and suicide, among some others, but also as a life choice which expresses social and cultural changes of the contemporary era. The transformation of the role of the woman in the couple, the family, and the society, require the modification of concepts about the phenomenon of loneliness; in order to understand not only from a negative perspective, but also as an option of life in women. It is concluded from the review of investigative background, the need to study it together with other variables such as self-esteem, social support, and personality, which can determine it either as a risk or a protective factor.
