Regulating insider trading: the interplay between economic, legal and political rationalities in the prohibition of insider trading and its enforcement
Abstract: The dissertation compares the regulation of insider trading in German and EU federal law. The method of comparison used is socio-legal. The dissertation tracks the political and economic context of the emergence of the prohibition in both the USA and Germany, and also looks at the practices of both criminal and administrative enforcement
