Unter dem Motto #FreiräumeSchaffen hat der Kongress zur Auseinandersetzung mit aktuellen Herausforderungen und wichtigen Zukunftsfragen des Bibliotheks- und Informationssektors eingeladen.

Films from the 1920s, ancestors online, stickers made from cultural treasures and yesterday's news from historical newspapers - the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek is participating in the nationwide Digitaltag 2022!

With the end of funding on 31 December 2022, Coding da Vinci will also come to an end - at least as we know it so far. This is because we are already planning how to build on what we have achieved and how to shape equal cooperation between cultural institutions and civil society in the future.

Under the title #FREIRÄUMESCHAFFEN (#CREATEFREESPACE), the 8th Library Congress will be held at the Congress Centrum Leipzig from 31 May to 2 June 2022, which is also the 110th German Librarians' Day.

After cultural institutions from Baden-Württemberg were last involved in Coding da Vinci Süd in 2019 , the time had finally come on 7 May: Coding da Vinci 2022 was "in the Länd" with the kick-off event at the ZKM Karlsruhe. Especially because after the online-only events caused by the pandemic, a face-to-face hackathon could finally take place again.

Zwei Projekte, nämlich die "Karten für Zeitreisende" und "Pallenberg-Dias - ein illustriertes VR Erlebnis" haben ihre Zwischenstände durchgegeben, der "Bilderbazar" stellt sich Anfang Juni auf der re:publica vor. 

Eight years ago, our first nationwide cultural data hackathon took place in Berlin. The initial skepticism of some data suppliers gave way ("... we don't work with hackers!") to a great enthusiasm for the commitment of the participants, because they opened up cultural treasures that had previously lingered in the collections and holdings of the cultural institutions.

On 19 and 20 March, the kick-off event of Coding da Vinci Ost³ 2022 took place as a trilingual, simultaneously interpreted hybrid format. On Saturday, 50 representatives of data-providing institutions from the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany were guests at the SLUB Dresden, a further nine were connected online, as were around 90 participants from all three countries. Coding da Vinci, the Cultural Hackathon, interconnects the worlds of culture and technology. In spring 2022, Coding da Vinci will come to Saxony, Poland and the Czech Republic and demonstrate once again the surprising range of possibilities in open cultural data.
