Save the Date: Coding da Vinci Abschlusskonferenz
It could be a start:
The Coding da Vinci Final Conference on 23.09.2022 in Berlin
Eight years ago, the founders of Coding da Vinci hosted their first hackathon for open cultural data. Hundreds of previously undiscovered digital cultural treasures have since been presented under open licenses. Thanks to the creativity and technical expertise of a growing community, 189 prototypes have emerged to date that make the potential inherent in our digital cultural heritage visible.
Since 2019, generous funding from the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (Federal Cultural Foundation) in the Culture Digital programme has made it possible for the Coding da Vinci Hackathons to further advance the digital opening of cultural heritage and memory institutions in many regions of Germany.
With the end of funding on 31 December 2022, Coding da Vinci will also come to an end - at least as we know it so far. This is because we are already planning how to build on what we have achieved and how to shape equal cooperation between cultural institutions and civil society in the future.
A glimpse into the future
At the Coding da Vinci final conference, we want to look back with you on the past eight years and - inspired by a two-part keynote - discuss your ideas and wishes for the co-creative collaboration of tomorrow at our Barcamp.
And (very important!) we want to celebrate with you: the end of Coding da Vinci, which already marks a new beginning with this conference.
