Die Hanro-Sammlung, die am Originalstandort des ehemaligen Schweizer Textilunternehmens rund 20.000 textile Objekte umfasst, bietet einen einzigartigen Einblick in die Design-, Produktions- und Handelsgeschichte der Unterwäsche. Das sogenannte Cache Corset war eines der ersten Produkte des Trikotherstellers Handschin & Ronus (Hanro) und ist zugleich das älteste textile Stück der Hanro-Sammlung. Es markierte den Übergang vom Korsett zu funktionaler, bequemer Wäsche und nahm vieles vorweg, was später Designklassiker wie das Cotton Seamless ausmachte.

BERLIN ZEICHNET MODE

Die Modezeichnung ist das älteste Medium zur Visualisierung von Kleidung und unentbehrliche Grundlage innerhalb des Designprozesses. Die Ausstellung „Berlin zeichnet Mode“ zeigt einzelne Schlaglichter der Berliner Zeichentradition und macht deren Fortführung bis in die jüngste Vergangenheit hinein sichtbar. Zahlreiche Querverbindungen zwischen den Akteur:innen verweisen auf die gewachsene Tradition der Berliner Modeausbildung.

klassisch konsumieren. Bertuch und das Journal des Luxus und der Moden

Ein Lifestyle-Magazin aus Weimar prägt die Mode- und Konsumwelt um 1800: Die Ausstellung widmet sich dem berühmten Lifestyle-Magazin aus dem Verlag von Friedrich Justin Bertuch. Das „Journal des Luxus und der Moden” erschien ab 1786 und wirkte weit über Weimar hinaus stil- und geschmacksbildend. Die Ausstellung präsentiert die Zeitschrift als herausragende Quelle der Wohnkultur, Kleidermode und des Konsumverhaltens in der Zeit um 1800. Zugleich ist sie Ausgangspunkt für einen Parcours durch die historischen Häuser der Klassik Stiftung, in denen einzelne im Journal beworbenen Gegenstände heute noch zu sehen sind.

Er war ein kleiner, unansehnlicher Mann hieß es 1906 in der Allgemeinen Deutschen Biographie über ihn. Dabei war Heinrich Klemm ein beispielhafter Aufstiegsbürger des 19. Jahrhunderts.
